Founded in 1902, the Accra Polo Club is one of Ghana’s oldest and most prestigious sporting institutions. Since its inception, the Club has played a central role in introducing and developing polo in the country, hosting its first official tournament in 1903. Over the decades, it has attracted a diverse and international membership, united by a shared passion for the sport and its spirit of camaraderie.
Nestled in the heart of the city, the Accra Polo Club offers state-of-the-art facilities, including a Riding School and Polo Academy, squash courts, and multiple event spaces for both formal and casual corporate entertainment. At the centre of it all is the Polo Club Restaurant—a refined dining space overlooking the field, serving as a social hub for members and guests alike. Known for its relaxed yet elevated atmosphere, the restaurant features a curated menu and front-row views of the polo action, making it an ideal venue for everything from casual lunches to formal entertaining
The Club’s polo season runs from the beginning of August through to the end of April each year, coinciding with the region’s most favourable weather and featuring a full calendar of high-profile tournaments. The Club includes one regulation-size field, a spacious and well-equipped clubhouse, stabling facilities, and convenient access to premium accommodation and logistics support for visiting teams. Over the years, the Club has grown to host multiple teams, organise regular chukkas, and stage international fixtures.
A Board of Trustees and an Executive Committee oversee the successful running and ongoing development of the Club.
